Hi, I’m Julissa.

I'm the founder of Hok Therapy and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 16 years of both leadership and clinical experience at institutions such as Yale University Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital.

I started Hok Therapy because I wanted to offer something different: focused, one-on-one care for the students who need it most, the high-achievers struggling in ways that don't show on the outside.

The students I work with aren't falling apart. They're showing up, getting it done, and holding everything together, while managing anxiety that never fully turns off. If that's you, you're in the right place.

My approach is direct, grounded, and built on 16 years of real clinical work, not scripts, not cookie-cutter techniques. We'll understand your anxiety, challenge what's keeping you stuck, and build tools that hold up in your actual life.

You've always figured it out. So why does everything feel like it's unraveling?

You have the GPA. The internships. The group chats where everyone thinks you have it together. And underneath all of it, a low hum of dread that never quite goes away.

Maybe it's the fear of finally failing. Maybe it's the burnout you keep pushing through because stopping feels more dangerous than continuing. Maybe it's the voice that says you haven't actually earned any of this, and one day everyone will find out.

That's not a character flaw. That's anxiety, and it's incredibly common in students who've always been the capable one.

I'm the therapist behind Hok Therapy, an LCSW with over 16 years of clinical experience, including leadership roles at Yale University Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital. I've spent my career working with high-performing people in high-pressure environments. I built this practice specifically for students like you.
